v0.6.9

TypeApe 0.6.9 redesigns the Client studio, the public website, and the user manual with the new Paper & Stage look, a light and dark theme, and a clearer Write and Play layout.

Improvements and fixes

  • The studio has a new look. Writing happens on warm Paper surfaces, and stories play inside a dark stage frame. Choose Paper (light), Lamplight (dark), or Match system under System settings → Application → Appearance. TypeApe follows your operating system by default and applies your choice from the first frame, without flashing the wrong theme. The story stage always stays dark.
  • The workspace tabs are replaced by two modes. Write keeps the Agent conversation in the center. Play (⌘3 or Ctrl+3; ⌘1 or Ctrl+1 for Write) holds Read for playing your Linear or CYOA story and Validate for the full report, with the Agent beside it so you can keep talking while you read.
  • A new status bar shows validation errors and warnings, story shape, task progress, and the Agent's connection and run state in every mode. Select a count to open the Validate report. When the task list is hidden, its execution action stays in the status bar.
  • Plan review and Inspiration review now open in the center of Write, with the conversation beside them, and every new or revised plan reopens the review automatically. Going back leaves the decision pending; reopen it from the task list. Approving or requesting changes returns you to the conversation.
  • Play stays available while the Agent works and while a story check or start is running; it shows the last result with progress in place. If the Story has errors, starting to read opens the Validate report instead.
  • A new project menu in the title bar gathers open in editor, open another project, linear TXT export, project settings, and close project. The account menu and settings stay in the title bar at every window width, and settings open full width and return you to the previous mode when closed.
  • Annotation rails for plans, Inspiration cards, and stories stay in view while you scroll the document and move below it when space is narrow. Sending Story notes opens the new revision conversation in Write.
  • Press F6 to move focus between the title bar, center, navigator, side panel, and status bar. Automatic switches to a review or report are announced to screen readers.
  • The public website and user manual adopt the same design and follow your system's light or dark setting. The manual describes the new Write and Play layout in English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese.

Compatibility and limitations

This release supports Linear Story and CYOA projects on macOS with Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux x64. Project, export, and Story formats are unchanged, and existing projects require no migration. The new appearance preference is stored with your other Client settings on this device; earlier versions ignore it. The Client keeps its existing minimum window width.

v0.6.8

TypeApe 0.6.8 brings the public website and user manual to Japanese and streamlines the settings navigation.

Improvements and fixes

  • The TypeApe website and user manual are now available in Japanese, including the Lattice guide to story source, blocks, validation, and CYOA stories. Use the new language menu in the site header to switch between English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese; the site remembers your choice.
  • The settings navigation now shows a compact list of categories and pages without explanatory subtitles, so the menu is easier to scan.

Compatibility and limitations

This release supports Linear Story and CYOA projects on macOS with Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux x64. Project, export, and saved settings formats are unchanged, and existing projects require no migration. The Client interface and the public website are available in English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese; the hosted account pages keep their current supported languages.

公開日 · 2026-10-03

v0.6.7

TypeApe 0.6.7 adds Japanese as a supported language for the Client interface and for your project's writing language.

Improvements and fixes

  • TypeApe now runs in Japanese. Choose it under System settings → Application → Language; the interface and native notifications follow your choice.
  • Create projects with Japanese as the writing language. The new labelled language selector offers English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese and shows a hint for the selected language. Starter content and Agent replies use the project's writing language.
  • The project creation form now presents the writing language as one compact selector instead of separate option cards, so more languages fit without changing the layout.
  • Japanese content uses dedicated Japanese typefaces for interface text, story prose, and monospace text, and Linear Story text export uses Japanese dialogue labels.

Compatibility and limitations

This release supports Linear Story and CYOA projects on macOS with Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux x64. Writing language and Client display language are independent: the display language applies only to the current device, while the writing language is stored with each project. Existing English and Simplified Chinese projects open unchanged. Opening a Japanese project requires this version or later, and downgrading to an earlier version after creating Japanese content is unsupported. The public website and user manual remain available in English and Simplified Chinese.

v0.6.6

TypeApe 0.6.6 adds model and reasoning controls to the Agent composer and improves how you review Story validation results and Agent plans.

Improvements and fixes

  • Choose an available model and its supported reasoning level from the composer. The selected reasoning level is applied to the active conversation.
  • Story validation reports now summarize errors, warnings, and informational findings using the updated diagnostic format.
  • Review Agent plans by annotating individual passages, making feedback easier to tie to the relevant part of a plan.
  • Agent initialization now loads its AI runtime correctly, and several Client workflows and settings receive reliability and usability fixes.

Compatibility and limitations

This release supports Linear Story and CYOA projects on macOS with Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux x64. Project and export formats are unchanged, and existing projects require no migration. Model and reasoning choices depend on the capabilities exposed by the selected model.

v0.6.5

TypeApe 0.6.5 makes Story reading easier to follow and adds an optional sound when Agent work finishes in the background.

Improvements and fixes

  • In CYOA and Linear Story previews, Continue returns the reading area to the start of the next passage. If Continue fails, your position and current passage remain in place so you can retry.
  • When the TypeApe window is unfocused, completed Agent work plays a short bell. Open System settings → Application → Notifications to turn notification sounds off or preview the bell. Turning sounds off also silences notifications that ask for your response; the notifications still appear.

Compatibility and limitations

This release continues to support Linear Story and CYOA projects on macOS with Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux x64. Project and export formats are unchanged, and existing projects require no migration. The completion bell plays only while TypeApe is in the background; device audio and operating-system notification settings may also affect what you hear.

v0.6.4

TypeApe 0.6.4 improves recovery after network interruptions and makes transitions between writing workflows more reliable, including starting Goal mode and returning to editing after planning.

Fixes

  • Temporary connection failures, including after sleep, no longer discard your saved sign-in. If TypeApe cannot verify your session at startup, you can retry the connection, and it retries when connectivity returns. Invalid or revoked credentials still require signing in again.
  • Agent connections recover more reliably when a session token expires, including when several requests encounter the same expired token. Signing out or changing accounts also prevents earlier account activity from reappearing.
  • Finishing, stopping, or replacing Plan and Inspiration work now releases its temporary editing restrictions reliably. Approved plans and subsequent writing requests can edit project files again, while new work waits for the previous operation to finish cleaning up.
  • Goal mode can now start with the controls it needs to finish, report a blocker, or wait for input. Follow-up input can reach a waiting Goal, and steering remains available while the Agent is responding.

Compatibility and limitations

This release continues to support Linear Story and CYOA projects on macOS with Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux x64. Project, export, and saved workflow formats are unchanged; existing projects require no migration. An interrupted response that has already started streaming is not automatically replayed and may still require an explicit retry.

公開日 · 2026-09-18

v0.6.3

Story validation now handles project-relative source paths correctly, including native analysis results, so validation can reliably resolve files inside a project snapshot. Goal mode now pauses safely when a managed run cannot start or be controlled, and records diagnostic context to improve troubleshooting without exposing upstream details in the user-facing error.

公開日 · 2026-09-16

v0.6.1

TypeApe 0.6.1 improves the diagnostic information available when the Desktop Client encounters errors, helping operators investigate failures that cannot be reproduced locally.

More useful error diagnostics

Failed Agent tool reports now include the tool name, call identifier, original error output, and available execution context. Desktop and native error reports also retain messages, request details, breadcrumbs, tags, and other diagnostic context instead of discarding them before they reach Sentry.

This additional detail is available only in staging and production builds. Screenshots, session replay, performance tracing, profiling, Sentry logs, minidumps, and automatic client reports remain disabled.

Privacy and compatibility

Diagnostic reports may contain author or project content, file paths, request URLs, account fields, or other data involved in a failing operation. TypeApe redacts common credential fields and inline passwords, secrets, tokens, API keys, cookies, authorization values, and database URLs before sending a report.

This release continues to support Linear Story and CYOA projects on macOS with Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux x64. Project and export formats are unchanged, and existing projects require no migration.

v0.6.0

TypeApe 0.6.0 adds a persistent Goal mode for multi-step outcomes, makes Agent conversations easier to navigate and control, and renders emoji consistently across supported platforms.

Keep working toward a goal

Goal mode keeps one objective active across multiple Agent responses until the Agent explicitly completes it with evidence, reports a blocker, or waits for new information. A progress card keeps the current state visible, waiting Goals can continue from the Composer, and stopped Goals can restart from the saved objective.

Goal mode starts up to 10 automatic responses by default. System settings can set another positive limit or remove the response-count ceiling. Completion, blocking, waiting, depleted Credits, token budgets, runtime failures, and repeated lack of progress still stop or pause automatic work when the response count is unlimited. Completion evidence is produced by the same Agent and is not an independent verification.

Find and follow conversations faster

New conversations now receive a compact title from their first prompt while the first response is still running. Typing / in the Composer opens a searchable, keyboard-accessible menu of the tools and skills available to the current project, so their invocation text can be inserted without memorizing names.

When a request would replace an unfinished writing mode, the confirmation now clearly offers a choice between continuing the current mode and changing modes. Choosing the current mode again continues it instead of prompting for an unnecessary replacement.

Control long-conversation context

System settings now offer soft conversation limits from 64,000 to 1,000,000 tokens. TypeApe uses the lower of the selected limit and the model maximum as the effective context limit, and compacts earlier to preserve room for the next response. The Composer meter reflects the effective limit. This gives you control over how much active context a long-running conversation retains.

Consistent emoji

The Desktop Client, website, manual, and design reference now use the same self-hosted color emoji font instead of depending on the operating system's fonts.

Good to know

This release continues to use Lattice SDK 0.2.2 and the deployed Cable v1 contract. Linear Story and CYOA remain supported, project and export formats are unchanged, and existing projects require no migration. Goal mode depends on the same project Agent and its current tool permissions; unlimited automatic responses do not remove the other safety and account limits described above.

公開日 · 2026-09-13

v0.5.2

TypeApe 0.5.2 makes account sign-in and long-running AI connections easier to recover, and gives longer messages more room in the Agent composer.

Clearer recovery from connection problems

When the account service cannot be reached during browser sign-in, TypeApe now shows a clear connection error with a retry path instead of presenting it as a filesystem failure.

Long-lived AI sessions now recover when an access-token rotation leaves an existing Cable connection authenticated with the previous token. Before a response begins, TypeApe replaces the stale connection, obtains fresh credentials, and retries the request once. If refreshed authentication is rejected, the affected request stops with an authentication error.

More room for longer messages

The Agent composer now grows upward as you type, keeping its send controls in place and making multi-line prompts easier to review. After reaching a bounded height, the input scrolls so it does not take over the workspace.

Good to know

This release uses Lattice SDK 0.2.2 and the deployed Cable v1 contract. Linear Story and CYOA remain supported, project and export formats are unchanged, and existing projects require no migration. A disconnect after a response has begun may still interrupt that reply; TypeApe reports it for normal retry rather than combining partial responses from different attempts.

公開日 · 2026-09-11

v0.5.1

TypeApe 0.5.1 keeps Agent work running while you move between projects, adds source-backed drafting goals and outline checks, and makes interrupted generation easier to understand and recover from.

Draft against clear Story goals

Stories can now declare an optional prose target, counting method, delivery bounds, and per-Scene or per-Block drafting budgets. The Project Agent can use those goals to show exact progress and focus work on the largest remaining gaps, while approved task requirements remain limited to the task that selected them.

You can also validate a Story as an outline before reader prose is complete. Outline checks retain the final Scene and Block identities, summaries, flow, and continuity rules; publish checks still require reader-visible prose and all normal Story validation.

Keep working while the Agent runs

Switching to another open project or conversation no longer stops generation. TypeApe keeps each run bound to its original project, shows active background conversations in the sidebar, and lets you return to the captured Story version that the Agent was working from. Explicitly closing a project still stops its work safely.

Clearer recovery when work stops

When your Credit balance is empty, TypeApe now explains why generation stopped and offers a direct Add Credits action before you retry the message. Approved writing-mode changes end the previous mode cleanly, and a failed tool call is shown on that call without making the surrounding tool group look like the entire response failed.

Good to know

This release requires the deployed Lattice 0.2.1 service contract. Linear Story and CYOA remain supported, exports are unchanged, and existing projects require no migration. The new prose-goal fields are optional; a project that uses them requires TypeApe 0.5.1 or later because older Clients reject those fields.

v0.5.0

TypeApe 0.5.0 makes hosted AI work more resilient during service reconnects, moves saved preferences away from retired models, and gives the Project Agent clearer Story DSL reference guidance.

More resilient AI connections

The Desktop Client now reconnects to hosted AI services with refreshed authentication after a connection interruption or service restart. Requests that can safely recover before a response begins continue automatically, while authentication failures stop and report the affected request. Credentials remain in the main process and are not placed in the WebSocket URL.

Smoother model transitions

When the service retires an AI model and names a replacement, TypeApe hides the retired choice and moves your saved Project Agent and Creative support model preferences to the available replacement. If the replacement is not available yet, TypeApe keeps the saved preference for a later refresh and uses the normal available-model fallback in the meantime.

More reliable Story DSL guidance

The Project Agent's bundled Story DSL reference now points only to readable chapters and available validation tools. This prevents failed attempts to load an internal grammar resource that is not exposed in project sessions.

Good to know

This release requires the deployed Lattice 0.2.0 service contract; older TypeApe Clients remain supported by the service's compatibility path. Linear Story and CYOA remain supported, project and export formats are unchanged, and no project migration is required. A disconnect after a response has begun may still interrupt that reply; TypeApe reports it for normal retry instead of combining partial responses from different attempts.

公開日 · 2026-09-09

v0.4.2

TypeApe 0.4.2 substantially improves AI context-window handling and makes conversations easier to read with grouped tool activity.

AI context window

AI context-window handling has been substantially optimized, improving the writing experience when working with conversation and project context.

Easier-to-read conversations

Consecutive tool calls now appear in a single collapsed group with a call count and activity status. Expand it whenever you want to inspect individual calls; your choice stays in place as the group updates. Failed calls show a visible hint, with details available on expansion. Story review cards remain directly accessible in the conversation.

Good to know

Linear Story and CYOA remain supported. Project and export formats are unchanged, and no project migration is required. Available AI context still depends on the selected model; this update does not make context unlimited. CYOA review covers selected routes and does not replace your judgment.

公開日 · 2026-09-09

v0.4.1

TypeApe 0.4.1 gives inspiration and story reviews access to more project context, clarifies response recovery, and makes everyday controls easier to understand.

Inspiration and story reviews

Creative assistants can now load your project's skills and references, read story files, search project memory, and check story structure and CYOA routes. They can consult this material without editing your files or changing your writing mode.

The setting previously called “Subagent model” is now “Creative support model”. Its default is DeepSeek V4 Pro when available. Your saved choice is preserved if it is still available, and changes apply to newly started tasks.

Clearer recovery and controls

Interrupted replies that recover after an automatic retry now remain warnings, including when you reopen the conversation. TypeApe distinguishes an active retry, a recovered reply, and an unsuccessful attempt; a final failure still appears as an error.

English and Simplified Chinese instructions are clearer across project creation, writing modes, inspiration, reviews, settings, and updates. Signing out also prevents an in-progress credential refresh from restoring your session.

Good to know

Linear Story and CYOA remain supported, with no project or export format change and no project migration required. Older conversation entries without retry history keep their previous error display. Additional reading and checks can increase response time and model usage; assistants may not consult every source. CYOA review covers selected routes and remains a writing aid, not a replacement for your judgment.

公開日 · 2026-09-08

v0.4.0

TypeApe 0.4.0 focuses on two improvements: more control over the AI models used by Subagents, and better prose when creating CYOA stories.

Choose a default model for Subagents

You can now choose a separate default model for Subagents in AI settings. This lets you use the model that best fits background tasks such as Inspiration and narrative review, independently from the main Project Agent.

The setting applies to newly started Subagent tasks. Tasks that are already running continue with their current model.

Better CYOA prose

When you ask TypeApe to create a complete CYOA story, the Project Agent now continues beyond the story structure and writes out the scenes, consequences, and endings instead of stopping at a playable outline.

TypeApe can also review the actual prose along a story route. This helps the Project Agent spot thin or missing passages and gives it route-specific feedback when revising the story.

Good to know

Linear Story and CYOA projects continue to work as before, with no project migration or format change required. Route review checks selected playthroughs rather than every possible route and remains a writing aid, not a replacement for your judgment.

公開日 · 2026-09-06

v0.3.6

TypeApe 0.3.6 fixes Project Agent document-tool compatibility and checks for desktop updates sooner after startup.

Fixes

  • Fix a document-tool definition that model providers could reject, preventing the Project Agent from working. Incomplete document actions are rejected before changing files, and deletion still requires a matching content digest.
  • Release builds now check for updates in the background as soon as the initial window has loaded, removing the previous 30-second delay. Downloading and restarting to install an update still require your confirmation.

Compatibility and known limitations

  • Linear Story and CYOA remain the supported project profiles, with the same desktop targets: Apple Silicon Mac, Windows x64, and Linux x64.
  • No database or Story source migration is required. Project format v1 is unchanged, and downgrade remains unsupported.

公開日 · 2026-09-05

v0.3.5

TypeApe 0.3.5 brings story reviews into the conversation, with visible evidence, revision suggestions, and satisfaction feedback after writing.

Story review cards

  • After generating or revising prose, the Project Agent is guided to request a review of the final valid Story in Direct, Plan execution, and execution of an Inspiration-derived Plan.
  • Expand the review card to inspect ten narrative trait scores, their supporting evidence, how the text fits your request, and suggested changes with their trade-offs. The review asks for evidence from the actual prose, including missing setup, rather than crediting unwritten intentions.
  • Each card describes the text reviewed at that point in the conversation. If the Story changes while a review is running, review the current revision again instead of relying on an outdated assessment.

Satisfaction feedback

  • Choose Satisfied or Dissatisfied on a review card to rate that generation. Each review accepts one vote, which is saved with the conversation and remains visible when you reopen it.
  • In production, a newly saved vote may send the satisfaction choice and ten numeric trait scores to product analytics. This feedback event excludes story text, quotations, review explanations, prompts, file paths, and project or conversation identifiers. Your vote stays saved locally even when analytics is unavailable; reopening a conversation does not resend it.

Compatibility and known limitations

  • Linear Story and CYOA remain the supported project profiles, with the same desktop targets: Apple Silicon Mac, Windows x64, and Linux x64.
  • Reviews are model judgments and can misread prose or be unavailable. Scores describe writing traits; higher is not always better, and they are not an overall quality grade. A failed review does not discard your Story.
  • Older review results remain readable as conversation tool output; they do not gain structured review cards or feedback buttons retroactively.
  • Inspiration retains its read-only exploration, parallel perspectives, selection, and Plan handoff with a simplified execution flow. Model availability still determines whether each perspective completes.
  • No database or Story source migration is required. Project format v1 is unchanged, and downgrade remains unsupported.

公開日 · 2026-09-05

v0.3.4

TypeApe 0.3.4 adds guided story coauthoring and durable project documents, makes Project Agent retry progress clearer, and adds a direct way to check TypeApe service status.

Guided story coauthoring

  • Ask the Project Agent to co-write step by step, from gathering context and comparing creative directions to reviewing an outline, drafting scenes, and checking the reading experience.
  • Review and revise manageable writing slices while retaining control over creative decisions. The Agent rereads current project files before each new slice to respect edits you make directly.

Project documents and file organization

  • Keep story bibles, outlines, research, creative decisions, and open questions as readable Markdown files in the project's optional docs/ directory. The Agent can consult relevant documents in later conversations and maintain them as the story develops.
  • Ask the Agent to organize project files and directories, or move and archive documents. Moves reject existing destinations; document deletion checks for changes since the content was last inspected.
  • Plan and Inspiration can consult existing documents while keeping project files read-only.

Project Agent retry progress

  • When a response is interrupted and the Project Agent starts an automatic retry, the conversation shows the current attempt and the total number of attempts instead of presenting the interruption as a terminal failure.
  • The retry notice clears when recovery finishes, while the interrupted response remains visible so authors retain the context for what happened.

Service status

  • The TypeApe website footer now links to the public system status page with a localized English or Simplified Chinese label.

Compatibility and known limitations

  • This release supports Linear Story and CYOA projects on macOS with Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux x64.
  • Automatic retry progress reports recovery attempts initiated by the Project Agent. Recovery still depends on the configured retry limit and the underlying model service becoming available.
  • The system status link opens the external TypeApe status page; it does not diagnose a local network or device problem.
  • Project documents are authoring references and are not included in reader exports. This release does not add an in-app document editor or file browser.
  • Keep project backups or version history: file deletion does not use a trash store. Recover deleted files from your backup or version-control history.
  • The optional docs/ directory stays within project format v1. If an existing project uses docs as a file or as a link outside the project, rename that file or move the documents into the project before opening it.
  • No database or Story source migration is required. The docs path restriction above is the compatibility change to check; downgrade remains unsupported.

公開日 · 2026-09-03

v0.3.3

TypeApe 0.3.3 makes failed Plan revisions easier to continue and keeps incomplete planning responses out of review. It also improves privacy-safe product analytics for writing workflows without collecting story or project content.

Project Agent planning

  • After a requested Plan revision fails, the Composer returns to Planning mode. Authors can send a narrower instruction there to add it to the saved feedback and retry the same plan without a workflow-replacement prompt.
  • A planning response enters review only after the Agent has created a task and produced a complete, structured plan. The internal readiness signal is never shown in live output, conversation transcripts, or saved review documents.

Workflow analytics

  • Accepted workflow starts are attributed to the composer, an Agent suggestion, or the handoff from Inspiration to Plan. Follow-up and steering messages do not count as new workflow starts.
  • Workflow events use only controlled workflow and entry-point categories. They do not include prompts, story content, project paths, model identifiers, or run, session, project, and database identifiers.
  • Analytics remain limited to production builds and cannot prevent a writing workflow from starting if measurement is unavailable.

Compatibility and known limitations

  • This release supports Linear Story and CYOA projects on macOS with Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux x64.
  • Workflow analytics measure starts only; they do not indicate completion, success, Credit use, or provider cost.
  • If the Agent cannot produce a complete reviewable plan, the response remains outside Plan review. Authors can retry with a narrower instruction.
  • Existing projects require no migration for this release. This release has no known breaking project-format changes, and downgrade remains unsupported.

公開日 · 2026-09-02

v0.3.2

TypeApe 0.3.2 lets authors annotate individual reader choices during Story review and keeps long update notes usable on screen. It also fixes an issue that could prevent built-in Project Agent capabilities from working correctly in some cases.

Story review

  • Reader choices now have their own annotation action and note count. Adding a note remains separate from choosing the option during preview.
  • Choice notes retain the stable choice ID together with their scene, passage, position, and quoted label. Saved notes survive a Story restart and give the Project Agent the same review context when the author submits them.

Project Agent

  • Fixed an issue that could prevent built-in skills from working correctly in some cases.

Desktop updates

  • Update dialogs with long release notes now stay within the available window. The notes scroll independently, and the Later and Download update actions remain reachable.

Compatibility and known limitations

  • This release supports Linear Story and CYOA projects; choice annotations apply to reader choices in CYOA passages.
  • This release supports macOS on Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux x64.
  • Exact Story text selections still cannot span content blocks. Annotate each block or reader choice separately.
  • Existing projects require no migration for this release. This release has no known breaking project-format changes, and downgrade remains unsupported.

公開日 · 2026-09-01

v0.3.1

TypeApe 0.3.1 makes Project Agent responses easier to read and keeps active conversations easier to follow. It also improves live token-rate display and reduces redundant waitlist records for existing accounts.

Project Agent communication

  • Project Agents now use shared simple-language guidance for updates, explanations, questions, plans, reviews, summaries, and other reader-facing prose in both Linear and CYOA projects.
  • The guidance favors direct, concrete wording while preserving intentional story voice, dialogue, code, commands, identifiers, and quoted text.
  • Opening an existing conversation now positions the transcript at its latest message instead of starting at the oldest content.

Runtime and account reliability

  • Live input and output token rates now update in place, with separate per-second units, so frequent telemetry changes remain legible without rolling number animations.
  • When TypeApe finds an existing account for a valid waitlist email, it returns the normal accepted response without creating a pending record. The response does not disclose whether the account exists.

Compatibility and known limitations

  • This release supports macOS on Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux x64.
  • Simple-language guidance improves Agent output but does not certify compliance with a controlled-language standard.
  • A waitlist submission that overlaps account creation or an application rollout can still leave a redundant pending record. Administrators should verify the account before approving that record.
  • Existing projects require no migration for this release. This release has no known breaking project-format changes, and downgrade remains unsupported.

公開日 · 2026-08-31

v0.3.0

TypeApe 0.3.0 helps authors inspect narrative structure without turning measurements into writing rules. It also makes revision feedback more relevant to the author's request, distinguishes Inspiration options more clearly, and adds shortcuts for opening the active project in local tools.

Narrative reports and revision feedback

  • Successful Story validation now includes a neutral Narrative Report covering composition, purpose distribution, perspective and location coverage, continuity distances, branching topology, and explored paths when available.
  • Revision feedback can compare a validated Story with an earlier checkpoint, focus on measurements relevant to the current request, and point to concrete Story evidence behind a change.
  • Authors can receive intent-alignment observations and possible revision directions without the feedback changing the Story automatically.
  • Measurements and semantic scores do not change Story validity and are not overall quality ratings or universal targets.

Inspiration diversity

  • Inspiration suggestions now show semantic and structural differences so authors can compare each option with the current Story and the other suggestions.
  • TypeApe warns when the three requested perspectives overlap substantially. The warning does not block selection or spend more Credits on regeneration.
  • Existing Inspiration results remain selectable. Results created before this release show narrative analysis as unavailable.

Project workspace

  • The project toolbar can open the active workspace in Finder, File Explorer, or the Linux file manager.
  • When installed and detectable, Visual Studio Code, Cursor, and Zed appear as additional destinations.

Compatibility and known limitations

  • This release supports macOS on Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux x64.
  • Narrative reports are available only after complete successful validation; parse-only and invalid results do not contain a report.
  • Diversity feedback reports overlapping suggestions but does not automatically retry or replace them.
  • Existing projects require no migration for this release. Downgrade remains unsupported.

公開日 · 2026-08-28

v0.2.2

TypeApe 0.2.2 brings together every user-facing change since 0.2.0, including the work prepared for 0.2.1, which was not publicly released. Authors gain more control over AI-assisted workflows, project-scoped long-term memory, and clearer Credit and account management.

Writing workflows

  • Creative mode can recommend continuing a request in Planning or Inspiration. TypeApe shows the proposed mode and reason, requires explicit author approval, and stays in Creative mode if the request is declined or receives no response within 60 seconds.
  • Inspiration now follows the author's original request more consistently and is available for both Linear and CYOA projects. Its suggestions may not satisfy every project structure rule, so confirm them with Planning and validation before adopting them.
  • When a Plan revision is rejected, TypeApe keeps the review feedback and creates a replacement task for the next attempt.
  • Project Agents can report story-length statistics for the text readers actually see.
  • The recent-project list can be scrolled with the keyboard, keeping long project histories accessible from the welcome screen.

Project memory

  • Project Agents can save durable decisions, preferences, corrections, lessons, and continuity facts, recall them with exact and semantic search, update them, and forget stale records.
  • Memory stays inside the active project's local database. It is isolated from other projects, excluded from reader exports, and remains with the project when it is backed up or moved.
  • Semantic recall runs locally. The first search downloads a large, pinned, and integrity-checked embedding model; interrupted downloads can resume, and TypeApe uses WebGPU when available with a local WASM fallback.

Credits, billing, and administration

  • Administrators can search the user directory, grant Credits by account email, and review grant history. Retrying a grant after a network interruption does not apply it twice.
  • Weekly Credits are used before directly funded Credits. 100 Credits represent US$1 of funded AI usage, and existing usage history is converted without changing its US-dollar value.
  • The account area now shows weekly and direct Credit balances. Configured test environments can exercise Stripe-hosted Creator subscriptions, Credit packs, and subscription management; Credit packs remain usable without a subscription.
  • Existing and new accounts begin with a zero balance and need an administrator grant, weekly allowance, or directly funded Credits before using hosted AI. Core local project editing and export remain available without Credits.

Reliability and recovery

  • Update notifications now open release notes and manual downloads more reliably.
  • Planning and Inspiration keep retryable failures paused with their retry actions available, while handled AI failures include clearer diagnostics.
  • Administrator reauthentication now blocks conflicting navigation and account transitions until the security check is completed or cancelled.
  • Concurrent requests that initialize the same account Credit balance now reuse the successfully created balance instead of failing.

Compatibility and known limitations

  • This release supports macOS on Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux x64.
  • Inspiration sessions created with 0.2.0 or earlier cannot be resumed; start a new session instead.
  • Opening an existing project applies the additive project-memory migration to a validated copy first; if migration fails, the original database stays unchanged. Downgrade is unsupported, and older Clients may not understand a project after it has been opened by 0.2.2.
  • Live self-service purchases are not enabled in this release. Stripe billing remains disabled unless the environment is explicitly configured for an approved test deployment.

v0.2.0

TypeApe now turns selected Inspiration results into a plan in one focused step, so authors can shape the direction where the ideas are presented and continue planning without a separate brief-review round.

Inspiration planning

  • Select one or more inspiration cards and add saved annotations directly to the passages that should guide the plan.
  • Merge the selected inspirations and continue into Planning mode with one action; the generated creative brief and original annotations become the planning constraints.
  • Review inspiration cards in a single-column reading layout with clearer selection, annotation, progress, and recovery guidance.
  • Existing Inspiration sessions created by earlier versions are not restored; restart Inspiration to use the streamlined workflow.

v0.1.8

TypeApe now offers three focused ways to write in the Desktop Client: create directly, build a plan, or explore inspiration before choosing a direction. This release also makes Agent activity and remaining conversation capacity easier to understand, with clearer action-focused wording throughout the product.

Desktop writing

  • Choose Creative, Planning, or Inspiration mode for each request without leaving the editor.
  • In Inspiration mode, compare several story directions, select the strongest ideas, combine them into a creative brief, and approve the reviewed brief into Planning mode.
  • Follow generation progress in the editor, then return to completed plans and inspiration results in their dedicated tabs.
  • Reopen completed Inspiration results after restarting the Client. If the Client closes while ideas are still being generated, start the request again.

Feedback and wording

  • See when the Agent is actively working and, while it is idle, how much room remains in the current conversation.
  • Find actions such as Preview through direct labels and matching status messages across the Desktop Client, account website, and public website.

v0.1.7

TypeApe now lets users set their account language and each Client installation's display language independently. This release also makes the documentation site easier to navigate and search, and identifies the publisher of trusted Windows packages with Authenticode signatures.

Desktop

  • Verify the TypeApe publisher when installing Windows packages and applying Windows updates.
  • Choose the Client display language independently on each installation without changing the account language or story projects.

Documentation

  • Search English and Simplified Chinese product and manual pages directly in your browser.
  • Move between Home and Docs with a simpler, centered navigation bar.
  • Read clearer product-focused guidance and release history copy.

Account language

  • Choose an account language for the website and future account emails; the preference follows the account across browsers.
